Pageant’s Furlong backs Wicklow housing scheme

Nick Furlong, the millionaire businessman who sold his DVD distribution company to DCC for €35 million in 2005 and has gone on to invest in Providence Resources and Donegal Investment Group, is behind a new housing development planned for Tinakilly in Co Wicklow.

Keldrum last week applied for planning permission for the large-scale residential development of 352 homes.

The company, which was set up in 2016, is majority owned by Melcorpo Properties, a Furlong-family owned business, whose shareholders include Furlong’s sons Peter and Paul. Melcorpo has a 61 per cent share in Keldrum.

Alan Hegarty and Emma Maye, of Ardale Group, and Kieran Finane, the founder of Finline Furniture, are also investors.
