I’ve been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and I’m not even 60

DEAR DEIDRE: I’VE been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and I’m not even 60. Now I wake up every day worrying about what the future holds.

As hard as I try, I can’t get it off my mind. I’m a 57-year-old man and I found out that I had early-onset Alzheimer’s two months ago.

The diagnosis came as a complete surprise after I visited the doctor for depression and anxiety.

When he broke the news I felt like my life had come crashing down in front of me and there was no escape.

Ever since I’ve been trying my best to come to terms with it but, no matter what, it constantly overwhelms my mind.
