A viral video clip shows them pointing the gun at passersby and then refusing to cooperate with the police. In response, a cop got into their cruiser and ran the Brooklyn resident, who also goes by the name Hanna Carillo, down. That officer was following protocol, said Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder, who also said the officer had told him he didn't want to fire his weapon as there were bystanders in the area who could have been hit by stray bullets. "The officer made a sound decision, a very good decision, and because of it, they saved the lives of themself, others and the person with that gun," Ryder told News12.
