 A few weeks ago in Coronation Street, Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) was given the news that he had been nominated for the Young Funeral Director of the Year award. Yes, that is a thing. Todd told the likes of Eileen (Sue Cleaver) and Glenda (Jodie Prenger) that he wasn't really fussed about it and only took part for the pay rise – which turned out to be non-existent and just a lie that Eileen told. However, the ironed shirt and pristine suit that Todd was wearing on the day of the awards suggested that he cared a lot more about what was ahead than he initially let on. In upcoming episodes, Todd finds that card and confides in Glenda about his situation, who says that he should ask for a payrise. Todd and George clash (Picture: ITV) When George is evasive, Todd ends up calling Troy and asks for a meeting. As their chat gets underway, Troy offers Todd a job at RestEasy on a salary of £30k plus a bonus. In the week, a furious George tells Todd that their working relationship is officially over. Eileen intervenes, telling George that he should bury the hatchet and pay him a decent salary, but George refuses to budge and ends up telling his partner that he needs a replacement now Todd has started at RestEasy and thinks she'd be great!
