How Sara Sharif, 10, died ‘still not established’

The cause of death of Sara Sharif, the ten-year-old girl killed in a suspected murder at a house in Surrey last week, has yet to be established, police said.

Sara, who had dreams of being a model, was found at her father’s home in Horsell, near Woking, in the early hours of August 10 after police were told of concerns for her safety.

Surrey police said three suspects, all known to Sara, left Britain before her body was discovered. It is understood that they fled to Pakistan on August 9.

Mark Chapman, a detective superintendent on the major crime team, said that after a post-mortem examination on Tuesday that the cause of death was “still to be established”. No arrests have yet been made and
