Corrie’s eagle-eyed fans spot ‘hidden clue’ ahead of Stephen and Tim ‘showdown’

ITV’s Coronation Street fans think they have spotted a hidden clue in a scene from Monday’s episode as cobbles serial killer Stephen Reid got rid of some evidence

Coronation Street fans are convinced they’ve spotted a “hidden clue” in a major scene from Monday’s episode, involving killer Stephen Reid. Soap watchers will recall Stephen has been on a killing spree, murdering Leo Thompkins, the latter’s father Teddy and Rufus Donahue. He has also terrorised Elaine Metcalfe and Carla Connor by secretly spiking them.

Only recently, Rufus’ estranged wife, Lou Donahue, got suspicious about her husband’s death after she discovered a piece of incriminating evidence that could rumble the killer. Last week, Lou accidentally showed Stephen a clear bag full of Rufus’ things that were found by the side of the pool with Stephen’s tie pin visible.

Later, the widow said she was heading to the police station to discuss the tie pin. Lou pointed out that the tie pin has “love G x” on it, questioning if it even belonged to her husband. Viewers will recall that Stephen was married to Gabrielle Reid, his estranged wife, and the tie pin could incriminate him.

However, Stephen managed to retrieve the item on Monday’s episode despite nearly being rumbled by Lou’s son, Jools, and later he dropped the incriminating tie pin down the drain. Also, in a bid to throw Lou off the scent, he dropped Peter Barlow in it by telling her he had pawned Rufus’ watch after finding it in a taxi.
