Elizabeth Francis recently celebrated her 114th birthday, becoming the oldest person in Texas, something her family believe is down to her “lifestyle” choices including her diet
One of the world’s oldest people has recently celebrated her 114th birthday – and her family are pretty sure a lot of her longevity came from her diet.
Elizabeth Francis celebrated her 114th birthday last week, becoming the oldest living person in Texas, the second oldest in the US and seventh in the world. When asked how it felt to turn 114, Elizabeth said: “I don’t know, I just thank the good Lord for keeping me.”
Her longevity seems to be genetic as well, with her sister living to be 106 – making them some of the oldest siblings on record for a time. Her daughter, 94, and granddaughter, 68, were by her side to celebrate the occasion.
Elizabeth’s granddaughter, Ethel Harrison, believes much of her grandma’s success to a long life is in her diet and “lifestyle”. The 114-year-old says she’s “never” smoked, doesn’t drink, and eats “everything”.
