The mum-of-five believes the hay bales were stacked three high, and the accidental avalanche could have been caused by a vibration, heat, or even moisture changes in the air which made the hay swell. As she suffocated underneath the bales, Rachael screamed for help. She lay there terrified, thinking only of her children as the upper bone of her jaw, the maxilla, had been torn away. The receptionist miraculously managed to escape when she squeezed out, but was left with her nose "in her hand" and her face "ripped open". She now faces months, or even years, of surgeries.
