Arsenal’s new goalkeeper David Raya boasts a tattoo on his neck commemorating a date that many Gunners supporters will hope to forget – the day Brentford beat them 2-0 in 2021
Arsenal’s newest addition David Raya has a rather awkward neck tattoo in honour of a date that the Gunners faithful will not look back on fondly.
Raya’s long-awaited switch to the Emirates from Brentford was finally confirmed on Tuesday, with the deal seeing the shot-stopper join initially on loan for £3million, though the contract contains an option to buy clause worth £27m that the Gunners are widely expected to activate come the end of the season.
Mikel Arteta has been very active in the transfer market this summer, with Raya the fourth addition following the arrivals of Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice. The Spain international’s move has sparked plenty of discussion over what his presence means for Aaron Ramsdale’s status as Arsenal number one.
Ramsdale is hugely popular among the Emirates faithful and while many fans have greeted Raya with open arms, they may not be quite so keen on the tattoo he is sporting on the back of his neck. The 27-year-old boasts some ink to commemorate the day he made his Premier League debut for Brentford, his tattoo reading: ’13-08-2021′.
