An inquest heard how her husband Stuart Williamson admitted he had killed retired community psychiatric nurse Diane. The 56-year-old was found dead in his prison cell at HMP Norwich on December 29, 2021, while awaiting trial for murder. He told police before his death: "I think I must have picked up a log and hit her with it, but I can't remember. "It must have seemed like a frenzy. The next thing I knew I was covered in blood - I have no specific recollection of doing it." Williamson claimed he had initially placed two plastic bags over Diana's body then put her in a wheelbarrow in the garage. He then told officers he buried her next to the garden shed - the exact spot where police found Diane's decomposed remains. Williamson was charged with murdering Diane between December 1 and 31, 2018. The inquest was told Diane and Williamson met in 1986 and moved in together before the relationship broke down in 2011. The pair lived separately, sold their house and divided the proceeds. But when Diane's Huntington's disease worsened in 2016, she moved into the farmhouse rented by her ex-husband. Her nephew raised concerns in 2017 that Williams was "exploiting her capacity issues for money' but Diane told adult social services she did not want to raise concerns.
