Dalvin Cook and Ezekiel Elliott both confirm new NFL teams hours apart

The two had been heavily linked with joining AFC East teams and have now made their move as they’re set to join rival teams while likely being starting players after being released this off-season

Ezekiel Elliott signed for the New England Patriots just hours before Dalvin Cook joined the New York Jets.

Both running backs had been the subject of speculation over the past few weeks, both being linked with each AFC East team, with the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins missing out.

The Jets had been heavily favoured to land Cook, after having him in for a visit earlier this month – with quarterback Aaron Rodgers hoping to see a deal done after restructuring his own contract to give the team more flexibility.

Meanwhile, Elliott lands in a good spot to reinvigorate his career after a few disappointing seasons with the Dallas Cowboys – where he could become the starting back.
