List reveals food hit worst by price hikes – from Tesco to Asda

NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT

A new list reveals which branded food products have been hit the worst by price hikes.

Consumer brand Which? has analysed prices of nearly 26,000 branded food and drink products at eight supermarkets: Aldi, Asda, Lidl, Morrisons, Ocado, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Waitrose.

The analysis, from July this year, found that a range of everyday items from Mr Kipling cake bars to Pilgrim’s Choice cheese and Yeo Valley flavoured yoghurts had seen prices rise significantly.

In the case of Mr Kipling Chocolate Slices, the uplift in cost at Tesco was 129%, from £1.16 a pack in 2022, now £2.66 in 2023.
