Dad’s phone rings ‘non-stop’ after restaurant accidentally makes huge blunder

A new dad was left absolutely baffled after hungry foodies allegedly kept ringing his mobile to request a takeaway, only to discover his number had been added to the menus

A new dad says his phone was ringing “non-stop” with calls from peckish takeaway lovers looking to order some Vietnamese food, and soon realised his number had been printed on the menus. As the father of a five-week-old baby, the last thing Gary Jones wanted was to be flooded with constant phone calls from complete strangers.

Unfortunately, he claims that’s exactly what’s happened after new restaurant Hanoi House, in Southport, opened its doors, and he’s now begged foodies to “not ring it please”. Taking to Southport Food Reviews, foodie Emma Watkins shared mouthwatering snaps of the meal she enjoyed at Hanoi House, on its opening day, which included a grilled pork rice bowl, chicken summer rolls, and a bowl of chicken noodle soup.

Although Emma was impressed by the “fresh and light” food and the “good-sized portions”, she was a bit perplexed as to why she just couldn’t get through using the phone number printed on the menu.

In her post shared on the popular dining-out group, Emma wrote: “The lady behind the bar said they were having phone issues but I just ordered on JustEat (needs must) and collected it. Polite staff, good booze selection on the bar, lovely food…I wish them very well!”
