Neymar completes £2.5m-a-week Saudi transfer and links up with 2 ex-Premier League stars

Neymar’s transfer to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 carried a world record fee, and the Brazil international has now left the Parc des Princes for a new challenge in Saudi Arabia

Al-Hilal have confirmed the arrival of Neymar in an eye-catching switch from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Brazil international is set for a huge £2.5m a week contract with the Saudi Pro League side, who previously tried and failed to sign Kylian Mbappe. He joins former Premier League men Kalidou Koulibaly and Ruben Neves at his new club.

It brings to an end his six-year association with PSG, who he joined in a world record deal back in 2017. The 31-year-old, who won the Champions League with Barcelona back in 2015, was unable to add the top European trophy during his time with the French side.

Neymar joins a team who got their season off to a winning start. They beat Abha in their Saudi Pro League opener, with another Brazilian – Malcom – scoring all three goals in a 3-1 win.
