NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT
Vladimir Putin’s bombers were intercepted flying near British airspace, the government has confirmed.
Two jets scrambled from RAF Lossiemouth scrambled to chase down the planes spotted just north of Scotland earlier today, within NATO’s northern air policing area.
Minister for the Armed Forces, James Heappey, said: ‘RAF pilots launched in their Typhoon jets to intercept two Russian long-range bombers this morning.
‘They monitored them as they passed north of the Shetland Islands, prepared to counter any potential threat to UK territory.’
