Twenty-one sites are set to be scaled back under proposals
Steve Barclay, the Health Secretary, is planning to halve the number of Department of Health and Social Care offices as part of a war on Whitehall waste.
Twenty-one sites, which are currently in use nationwide, are set to be scaled back to 10 under proposals currently under consultation.
Earlier this month, The Telegraph revealed that Mr Barclay had already axed one in six civil servants since his appointment in October.
In an email sent out to staff earlier this summer, Mr Barclay confirmed his desire to make further changes to “ensure closer partnership working and deliver efficiencies of scale”.
