Gary Watson Shearer, 53, had only been on the Canary Island of Lanzarote for a few hours when he vanished without a trace while there to celebrate St Patrick’s Day
Police are appealing for information regarding a mystery man who was seen with a British dad before he vanished in Lanzarote in March.
Gary Watson Shearer, 53, from Renfrew near Glasgow, disappeared just hours after travelling to the holiday island alone to celebrate St Patrick’s Day. He was last seen outside Bar 67 in the resort of Puerto del Carmen and CCTV later picked him up unconscious in a doorway around 1.30am on March 17.
Today in a new appeal for the public’s help, detectives published footage of Gary walking along the street with a “well-built” man they described as a “possible witness.” The CCTV clip was taken on the same day the Scot went missing, but it was not immediately clear what time it was recorded.
The Civil Guard said in a statement: “We are interested in finding the person in the images as he had contact with Gary. They were filmed walking together on March 17 in the streets Avenida Las Playas and Avenida Italia in Puerto del Carmen. Any information we receive could be of interest.
