But after much deliberation between brewery owners Philip Newton and his son Henry, the future of the Rovers was secured after Gemma Winter accepted a job as Henry's PA. This was a major condition should the brewery purchase the fan-favourite boozer. Before heading into the office for her first day, Gemma popped in to see her former boss Jenny to get her approval on her choice of outfit. "Well I never thought I'd say this about your fashion choices but you actually look very professional," gushed Jenny. As she went on to say: "Eh, there's nothing wrong with a bit of nerves," as Gemma explained she wasn't feeling confident. However, Daisy was unaware that Gemma had packed in her job and was off to work for the brewery as she asked her to help move a barrel in the cellar of the pub. But as Gemma went to lend a hand, Jenny was quick to butt in and said: "Ah Earth to Gemma, you don't work here any more!" Leaving Daisy completely shocked. After explaining that Gemma had left, Jenny said: "She's only gone and landed herself a job as Henry Newton's personal assistant." But while Gemma explained she felt out of her "comfort zone", Jenny attempted to console her and said: "She is my new secret weapon," before clarifying: "In getting the deal I want on the Rovers!"
