There haven’t been many more exciting bands to emerge from America in recent years than Geese. The Brooklyn five-piece are barely out of their teens but have already supported Jack White and Spoon, appeared on the cover of NME and been profiled by Rolling Stone and The New York Times. Their recently released second album, 3D Country, is a restless and exuberant blend of indie, country, gospel and art-rock on which their extraordinary singer, Cameron Winter, flits from drawl to yelp to croon to scream, sometimes in the space of one song. Winter is variously reminiscent of Tim Buckley, Tom Waits, Thom Yorke and Julian Casablancas, and rarely since Casablancas burst through with the Strokes two decades ago have a bunch of New Yorkers
