Jurgen Klopp falls to knees in disbelief at Anthony Taylor decision in Chelsea vs Liverpool

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp sunk to his knees in disbelief over a decision made by referee Anthony Taylor in his side’s Premier League opening encounter at Chelsea

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp sunk to his knees in disbelief over a decision made by referee Anthony Taylor in his side’s Premier League opener at Chelsea.

A pulsating encounter ended 1-1 at Stamford Bridge after Luis Diaz’s early opener for the Reds was cancelled out by debutant Axel Disasi’s equaliser for the hosts. Mohamed Salah and Ben Chilwell both had goals disallowed for offside in an end-to-end first half as each side was frustrated.

Yet the points being shared was ultimately a fair outcome in what was a remarkable seventh consecutive draw between the two sides. Both sides looked exciting going forward in a chaotic encounter, with each also showing their defensive flaws.

There were plenty of close calls made by the officials throughout the match including the disallowed goals, with Liverpool also having a strong penalty shout in the second half after the ball appeared to hit the hand of Blues forward Nicolas Jackson.
