Foreign Office warns British travellers to ‘maintain a high level of vigilance in public spaces’ amid fears of upcoming attacks
British travellers have been warned that terrorists are “very likely” to carry out an attack on Sweden following a series of protests in which the Koran has been burnt.
Right-wing extremists have been burning the holy book over what they claim is rampant immigration in Sweden and Turkey’s repression of Kurdish minorities.
In a warning to tourists, the Foreign Office said: “Terrorists are very likely to try and carry out attacks in Sweden. You should maintain a high level of vigilance in public spaces.”
“Attacks could be indiscriminate, including in places frequented by foreigners.”
