In a summer where Wolverhampton Wanderers have not been able to spend a penny because of Financial Fair Play rules, it is handy that they have an asset who thinks he can have the same impact as a new signing.
Sasa Kalajdzic arrived at Molineux just under a year ago in a £15 million deadline-day move from Stuttgart but the 26-year-old Austria striker had his season cruelly cut short on his debut against Southampton.
After 41 minutes, he went down after barely any contact, holding his left knee. He finished the half but that was his only appearance for Wolves last season after tests confirmed – for the second time in his career – that he had damaged anterior cruciate ligaments ACL and required surgery.
