Manchester United are preparing to sell Harry Maguire to West Ham after agreeing a £30million fee, with Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard lined up to replace the centre-back
Manchester United are finally back in Premier League action on Monday, but that isn’t stopping the Red Devils from continuing their busy summer transfer window.
Erik ten Hag’s side welcome Wolves to Old Trafford on the back of selling Fred to Turkish giants Fenerbahce for £12.9million and striking a £30m deal to sell captain Harry Maguire to West Ham. The Irons were also keen on Scott McTominay but have been put off by United’s £45m asking price.
Maguire’s departure is still dependant on him agreeing personal terms but once complete will open up a centre-back slot, with French duo Benjamin Pavard Jean-Clair Todibo touted to come in. The interest in Pavard, who’s also able to play at right-back, appears to be more concrete, with the Red Devils even making a transfer bid which Bayern Munich have already responded to.
Meanwhile, the announcement regarding Mason Greenwood’s future has been delayed as United – who face furious fan protests – prepare to conclude their internal investigation after police dropped charges against him in February. The club’s takeover saga is also still rumbling on, as is their pursuit of Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.
