Tottenham make decision on Harry Kane’s No.10 shirt after Bayern Munich transfer

Kane has moved to Bayern Munich for a fee which could rise to £100m, and he made his debut in the German Super Cup final defeat to RB Leipzig on Saturday night

Tottenham Hotspur have given their No.10 shirt to summer signing James Maddison following Harry Kane’s exit for Bayern Munich.

Maddison, who had been sporting the No.71 in pre-season as he waited to be allocated a shirt number, takes over from the prolific forward, who made his Bayern debut just over 12 hours after signing for the club on Saturday night in a 3-0 defeat to RB Leipzig in the German Super Cup.

Kane came on as a 64th minute substitute after just one training session with his new club, but he missed out on the chance to win his first senior trophy thanks to Dani Olmo’s hat-trick for Leipzig.

Maddison – who has also been named as one of two vice-captains of the club along with Cristian Romero, with Son Heung-min taking the armband – will make his Spurs Premier League bow against Brentford on Sunday.
