A suspected package thief’s attempt to evade the police took a bizarre turn when he hid in a storm drain for over 90 minutes before being rumbled.
The 31-year-old suspect, who had been accused of stealing packages from residents’ porches, found himself trapped underground on July 26, before escape plan was foiled by determined law enforcement officers.
The suspect’s allegedly went on a thieving spree, which caused a minor car crash, according to Fayette County Sheriff Barry Babb. In a bid to evade capture, the suspect fled the crash site on foot, eventually taking refuge in a storm drain located in Fayette County, Georgia.
