However, an argument over payment ensued, prompting the bakery allegedly plaster posters with the phrase "cake thief" alongside a picture of Margarita, next to the bakery's register. Margarita's version of events alleges that when she picked up the cake, the bakery had given her the wrong product and was not able to switch the cake for the right one easily. When she approached the cashier about the mix-up, she claims the employee suggested issuing a refund and recharging her for the cake. Fearing she might be charged twice, Margarita decided to keep the original cake and told the employee to not worry about it. The bakery's account of the incident contradicts this as, according to one of the posters, she had taken the cake and left even after receiving a refund.
