Soaring price of pint and a pie at football is revealed

Fulham fans will be left with light wallets if they want a pie and a pint during a match as their team tops the Premier League price table.

Supporters of the West London club will now pay an eye-watering £7 for the cheapest pint at Craven Cottage, which is up 2% on last year’s price of £6.80. While rivals Chelsea have the priciest pie, now £6.25 for all filling options compared to £5.30 last season, Fulham is also home to the league’s second-most expensive pastry. Fans will pay £5.70 for a steak and ale pie – up 14%.

Fulham said they do have a promotional offer of a £4.80 pint and a £3.70 pastry, which runs until around 30 minutes before kick-off – however, this is not available after this time or at half-time. The 23/24 season of the Premier League kicked off last night with Burnley taking on last year’s champions Manchester City in the first game.

City may be the favourites for the title, but Burnley fans are already celebrating as their team is the only one to see lager prices drop. The cheapest on offer, a pint of Carlsberg, now costs £5 at Turf Moor – 50p less than last year. The least expensive pie is at Goodison Park with Everton charging their fans £3.50.
