‘Our daughter died hours after saying she had stomach ache

Shaun and Pip Stirrup tragically said goodbye to their daughter Milly-Rose after she passed away from an unexpected illness – they are ‘still in the dark’ on the reason behind her death

The heartbroken parents of a little girl who died just hours after complaining of a stomach ache said they still don’t know what caused her death.

Milly-Rose, who was described as an “angel” by her family, sadly passed away shortly after playing the Nintendo switch in February. She would have turned eight years old this week.

Shaun and Pip Stirrup, from Denton, Manchester, told Manchester Evening News they are “still in the dark” as they wait for an inquest into their daughter’s death. The parents initially thought she had contracted a stomach bug which had been going around at school, so they gave her the day off.

A few hours later she described pain in her belly and head. They rushed her to A&E at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital but medics didn’t notice anything unusual with her observations so they decided to take her home.
