Christian Horner has said that celebrities like Taylor Swift would be “lucky” to attend Formula One races nowadays after the sport has experienced a surge in popularity.
The former racing driver, 49 – who is the team principal of the Red Bull team within Formula One – spoke about the industry’s popularity on a podcast. It comes ahead of the highly-anticipated Las Vegas Grand Prix later this year.
He said that new demographics of fans have been brought into the sports through the likes of a Netflix docuseries in recent years. Christian suggested that in light of this, celebrities would be “lucky” to attend racing events now.
