Liverpool’s British record transfer bid for Moises Caicedo ahead of Jurgen Klopp meeting

Liverpool are closing in on the British record capture of Moises Caicedo with Jurgen Klopp ready to meet the midfielder ahead of his medical with an agreement close

Jurgen Klopp will meet with Moises Caicedo on Friday morning ahead of his British record transfer switch to Liverpool.

The Reds have jumped to the front of the queue, usurping Chelsea in the process, and are ready to pay Brighton £110m to land the Ecuador international. Liverpool have been interested all summer, but didn’t enter the race as they thought Caicedo wanted to move to Stamford Bridge.

Despite the Blues’ interest, Liverpool look set to land a key target and Klopp will meet with his potential new recruit in an attempt to iron out personal terms swiftly. The hope at Anfield is that, all being well with Caicedo’s medical, he can sign an agreement by the end of the day.

It is understood Liverpool’s bid, which is based on achievement-related bonuses, could rise to the £110m figure which represents a British record, and exceeded Chelsea’s offer of £100m. Caicedo was immediately booked to have a medical, and will travel to Merseyside on Friday morning to begin the process.
