Neymar looks set to quit Paris Saint-Germain but the Brazil star will have to bide his time if he wants to follow Inter Miami’s Lionel Messi in making a move to MLS
Lionel Messi and Neymar have shared the field at two different clubs in their careers – and they could they reunite once again in MLS.
While the possibility exists, it seems that patience will be required. Neymar, who has expressed his desire to leave Paris Saint-Germain has been linked with a move to America. Watching his friend and former teammate Messi become the most popular sportsperson in Miami may have tempted the Brazilian star.
However, due to the transfer window closing at the start of the month, Neymar will have to wait until the winter window if he wishes to make the move to the United States. The MLS summer transfer window closed on August 2, which means that Neymar cannot sign for any team in the United States or Canada this summer.
Loan moves are also not an option as they fall under the same regulations as trades and transfers. In order for Neymar to join MLS, he would have to be a free agent signing and be available at the time the window closed.
