THE ‘UK’s oldest’ Jaguar retailer has announced it’s shocking shut down after more than 100 years – and EV sales are to blame, claim bosses.
Loyal customers and devoted employees at the historic Hatfields Sheffield base have been forced to say goodbye to the beloved store.
Bosses say the failure to sell enough electric cars is the source of the devastating closure of their showroom, on Sharrow Vale Road.
As reported by the Sheffield Star, the Jaguar dealership will now be merging with the Wakefield branch- but it’s not clear how many people, if any, will lose their job.
Hatfields’ managing director Gareth Williams said to customers: “As long as there have been Jaguars, Hatfields have been selling and servicing them, and we look forward to taking care of our Jaguar clients for many more years.
