West Yorkshire Police was accused of ‘callous overreaction’ after a 16-year-old girl was filmed being detained by police at around 1am on Monday, August 7. In a statement this evening, the service said she was arrested “on suspicion of a homophobic public order offence”, and that she has since been released from custody.
