Alabama boat fight: Mugshots of all three arrested over Montgomery mass brawl

Videos of the brawl went viral on social media with police citing the footage as essential to their investigations. Police are still hoping to speak to one man who was seen swinging a folding chair around as a weapon

Mugshots released by police show three suspects arrested over the massive brawl at the Alabama waterfront.

Montgomery police confirmed Allen Todd, 23, Zachery Shipman, 25, and 48-year-old Richard Roberts all turned themselves in. Todd and Shipman are both charged with third-degree assault while Roberts faces two counts of the same charge.

Videos of the incident, which went viral on social media, have proven crucial in investigating what happened, Montgomery Police Chief Darryl Albert said.

The fight was largely split along racial lines and began when a moored pontoon boat blocked the Harriott II riverboat from docking in its designated space along the city’s riverfront, Albert said. The Harriott II had 227 passengers aboard for a tour. During the fight a man was seen swinging a folding chair around, using it as a weapon. He has been identified as Reggie Gray, 42, and police want him for further questioning.
