Luton Town FC return to Premier League football this weekend

‘The Hatters’ will take on Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, in their first match in English football’s top flight since 1992

Football team Luton Town FC are preparing for their first Premier League match in over 30 years this weekend, and the town has shown the club sky-high support – literally.

A giant message of support, reading: “Pundits, prepare to eat your hats. Luton Town FC has landed”, has been carefully painted in Stockwood Park, just four miles from the club’s training ground, and two miles from Kenilworth Road Stadium.

And beside the message is a painting of Luton Town FC midfielder, Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu – who has been with the club for 10 years, as they have journeyed from non-league tier to the Premier League.

The artwork was created by nearby London Luton Airport, using over 500 litres of environmentally-friendly paint – and took two days to complete.
