An indecisive couple have admitted they let their dog pick their baby’s name after they struggled to narrow down their top three choices – and they love the moniker he chose
Choosing a baby name isn’t always easy, especially if you have several contenders that you can’t seem to pick between. And one couple decided to take the choice out of their own hands after narrowing their list down to three potential monikers – as they let their dog make the final decision instead.
Courtney Brooks, 29, and her husband Oliver, 30, had whittled their son’s name choices down until they were stuck between Casey, Brody, and Jaxon, but when they struggled to settle on which one they wanted to use, they handed over power to their two-year-old spaniel terrier cross, Gus.
The couple, from Folkstone, Kent, took Gus to a nearby park with three balls, each of which had one of their name choices written on it. They then threw the balls across the park and let Gus run to whichever one he wanted. And when the adorable pup came back with a ball with ‘Brody’ written on it, they decided to give the moniker to their firstborn.
Courtney and Oliver claimed Brody was their favourite of the three names anyway, and since little Brody was born on July 5, the couple has said Gus has been a great “big brother” to the newest addition to their family.
