The new Overwatch 2 Season 6 content update, named Overwatch: Invasion, will be going live later today on all platforms. But, not before server maintenance takes the game offline.
Overwatch 2 will experience downtime today, with Blizzard’s highly-anticipated Season 6 content update set to roll out on all platforms.
Overwatch 2 will get its biggest update to date later this evening, with Season 6 â named Overwatch: Invasion â set to introduce Invasion story missions, a new hero and various new modes. But what definitely won’t be introduced in this update is the previously cancelled story-focused PvE mode, which was controversially abandoned by Activision Blizzard, with the publisher admitting it’s prioritising the live service element of the game.
The good news is that there’s a brand-new hero named Illari, a support hero of Peruvian origin who’s rocking a solar-powered gunblade that heals teammates, rather than frying enemies. The bad news is that to access the new Invasion story missions, you’ll need to part with your hard-earned cash to play them.
But before you can jump into the new content, there’s the small matter of some server downtime, with maintenance set to kick in prior to the update going live. Here’s when Overwatch 2 will experience server maintenance downtime ahead of the Season 6 update.
