 Barcelona are exploring a sensational move to re-sign former striker Neymar, with Paris Saint-Germain happy to let the Brazilian leave the club. The French giants paid Neymar's £199.5m release clause in 2017 to sign the forward from Barcelona. That move, a world record, remains the biggest transfer fee in history by a significant margin. At the time, PSG used the deal to flex their muscles and to take a world superstar at the peak of his powers away from Barcelona. However, Neymar's six years at the club have been far from smooth and injuries have plagued his time in Paris. He's failed to inspire the club to Champions League success, despite coming close in 2020 when Bayern Munich ran out 1-0 winners in the final. And Neymar is the next in line for an exit, with the Independent saying Barcelona are looking at re-signing the 31-year-old. Neymar still has property in Spain and has twice agitated to return to the club. Barcelona's crippling financial situation would make a straight deal difficult but it's claimed the club are looking at a one-year loan deal with an option of purchasing the Brazilian. Neymar wants to remain in Europe until the 2026 World Cup, in order to stay in peak condition. He's received lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia but wants to stay at a Champions League club.
