Hollyoaks boss Lucy Allan steps down after two years

NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT

Hollyoaks boss Lucy Allan has stepped down after two and a half years, it has been revealed.

The acclaimed producer, who took over the role in 2021, has helmed some hard-hitting and incredibly powerful episodes and storylines over the past two years since taking the reins of the Channel 4 soap.

The Long Walk Home episode, which aired last year, springs to mind, as does Misbah Maalik’s rape storyline, which won a number of British Soap Awards, and of course the incredible stunt week that saw iconic serial killer Silas Blissett meet his maker after a decade of terror.

The groundbreaking incel narrative, a story that saw Eric Foster – played by the brilliant Angus Castle-Doughty – terrorise the women of the eponymous village, would also pick up gold at the Soap Awards.
