Taking to Reddit to share the issue, she wrote: 'My best friend since middle school recently asked me to be maid of honour for her wedding. I am elated and so excited to plan her Bachelorette and celebrate her love! We live in different cities now and only see each other about three times a year when we travel to visit each other or are both back in our hometown. 'Recently I was visiting her and at the pool she noticed I had armpit hair and said something like, 'hope you get around to shaving before my wedding'. I assured her I would be all trimmed up. She then brought it up in a more serious manner via text after I got home wanting me to clarify what I meant by trimmed.' The maid of honour explained to her friend that for the last year she had been using a different type of deodorant that suited her better but that it irritated her skin if she shaved before applying it. She added: 'Over the winter I got out of the habit of shaving and transitioned to using electric clippers to trim the hair down close to the skin, but not technically a clean shave. "I've found that I have more confidence and comfort when I have a bit of armpit hair - it might sound weird but it makes me feel powerful, like a little dash of masculinity.
