Streaming service launches Netflix-style tiers amid fierce competition for subscribers
Disney will introduce advertising breaks onto its streaming service in the UK later this year under a cheaper subscription plan for customers.
The Disney+ standard plan with adverts will become available in November following a successful launch in the US.
For £4.99 a month, customers will gain access to all of the service’s content including the Marvel and Star Wars franchises, although they will not be able to download it and only be able to use it across two devices.
Existing customers will remain on their current subscription, which will be renamed Disney+ Premium and have access to four devices.
