Following the death of her mother Lisa Marie Presley in January, Elvis Presley ‘s eldest granddaughter Riley Keough is now the head of a family of American royalty. Not only was her grandfather The King of Rock and Roll, but Lisa Marie Presley was briefly married to The King of Pop. Elvis’ daughter wed Michael Jackson from 1994-96, during which time Riley grew up at both Neverland and Graceland. In a new interview, the 34-year-old owner of Elvis’ estate said: ‘Which one did I like better? ‘I spent more time at Neverland than Graceland, to be honest. That was a real home, whereas Graceland was a museum in my lifetime.’ Elvis’ daughter Lisa Marie Presley was married to Michael Jackson from 1994-1996 (Image: GETTY) Reflecting on her unique upbringing, Riley told Vanity Fair : ‘My whole childhood was probably very extreme. In hindsight, I can see how crazy these things would be to somebody from the outside. ‘But when you’re living in them, it’s just your life and your family. You just remember the love, and I had real love for Michael.’ She then went on to compare her former stepfather to her grandfather Elvis. Lisa Marie Presley and her three daughters Riley Keough, Harper and Finley Lockwood (Image: GETTY) Riley was just a little girl when Jackson was her stepdad and so would have been unaware of the accusations around him. As a result, her memories of that time are described as ‘idyllic’ with the King of Pop going out of his way with his celebrity power for her. This included one time when he shut down a toy store in Paris or London (she can’t quite remember) because Lisa Marie’s daughter needed a teddy bear. The King’s granddaughter added: ‘I think he really got a kick out of being able to make people happy, in the most epic way possible, which I think he and my grandfather had in common.’
