Robert De Niro’s grandson’s harrowing cause of death announced after tragedy

The cause of death of Robert De Niro’s grandson has been revealed as a lethal combination of illicit drugs, including fentanyl. Leandro De Niro Rodriguez, who was just 19-years-old, was “found dead sitting in a chair” inside an apartment in his Wall Street apartment building. The tragedy was confirmed by his mother Drena De Niro on Instagram when she shared a photo of her “beautiful sweet angel”. “I have loved you beyond words or description from the moment I felt you in my belly,” she wrote. According to New York City’s chief medical examiner, Leandro died from   the toxic effects of fentanyl, bromazolam, alprazolam, 7-aminoclonazepam, ketamine, and cocaine. The Medical Examiner is ruling Leandro’s death an accidental overdose. Last month his grieving mother, Drena De Niro, replied to a comment on Instagram in which she claimed her son had taken ‘fentanyl-laced pills’. The Hollywood actor’s adoptive daughter hit out at those who are taking and buying the pills, devastatingly adding “my son is gone forever”. “Someone sold him fentanyl laced pills that they knew were laced yet still sold them to him,” Drena wrote on Instagram . Campbell Funeral Chapel, in Manhattan’s Upper East Side on for his grandson’s wake. Then he returned the following day for the emotional funeral procession along with Landro’s parents, his adoptive daughter Drena De Niro and her ex, artist Carlos Rodriguez. De Niro, 79, had the support of Taxi Driver co-star Harvey Keitel, who has been a close friend of 50 years, as well as Keitel’s wife, Canadian film director Daphna Kastner.
