He claimed to the Spanish news agency EFE that his late boyfriend had taken him "hostage" and that he was obsessed with him. His guilty plea comes less than a week after Sancho filed a missing people report at a Koh Phangan police station. Daniel claimed that Edwin, a Colombian surgeon, had gone missing on a beach resort where they had planned to visit a full moon party. It's believed the couple who had been together for over a year became embroiled in a heated feud. According to EFE, Daniel said: "I am guilty, but I was Edwin's hostage. He held me hostage. It was a glass cage, but it was a cage." Their feud was over "sex and money", according to Thailand police who accused Daniel of having chopped his boyfriend's body into 14 pieces before he went out to party with friends before filing a missing person report. Parts of Edwin's body, his hips and thighs were later discovered by rubbish collectors at a waste disposal centre on August 3. It's believed Edwin's body had been chopped into 14 pieces, with Daniel accused of taking a kayak into the sea to dump his hands and head.
