This Morning’s Craig Doyle explains why there’s no show on Tuesday Holly Willoughby looks set to become the “Queen Bee” of ITV’s This Morning after bosses made the decision not to replace Phillip Schofield. Back in May, Phillip stepped away from his role at This Morning and ITV after admitting to having an affair with a younger colleague whilst married to his wife Steph. After his exit, many speculated who would be his permanent replacement alongside Holly, with Alison Hammond, Dermot O’Leary and Josie Gibson being named. However, a TV source recently told Bella Magazine that bosses are allegedly not looking for a replacement at all and will have Holly front and centre as the “Queen Bee” of the show. They said: “The idea of finding the next Phil to sit next to Holly has been disregarded by This Morning’s bosses. It will essentially be Holly’s show. Bosses hope that they can put all of the Schofield scandal behind them and start concentrating on the content of the show rather than the twosome presenting.” Holly is set to return to ITV viewers screens in September and has been rumoured to have signed a new deal which could come with a bumped-up salary. Whilst Holly has been away, Josie, Alison, Dermot and Craig Doyle have stepped in to take over the show and keep it afloat. Since the news of Phillip broke, he has kept a very low profile and stayed out of the spotlight and away from the press as much as he can.
