Man Utd and West Ham ‘finalising Maguire details’ with swap deal off the cards

West Ham are reportedly closing in on agreement to sign Harry Maguire from Manchester United. The Red Devils are desperate to cash in on the services of the centre-back this summer, having recently stripped him of club captaincy. United have welcomed three new signings to their ranks this summer – Andre Onana, Rasmus Hojlund and Mason Mount – and the priority is now shifting to offloading fringe stars that no longer have a future at the club. Fred, Eric Bailly and Anthony Elanga all highlighted as players that needed to be sold. Maguire was also ‘put up for sale’, with West Ham promptly registering an interest in signing the England international. After seeing several bids knocked back for the ex-Leicester City star, but a deal now appears to be on the horizon. According to Sky Sports, the Hammers are ‘close’ to an agreement for Maguire worth over £30million. The two clubs are now negotiating the payment structure of the fee and ‘finalising the details’. Maguire was previously reluctant to join West Ham this summer and had insisted that he wanted to stay and fight for his place in Erik ten Hag’s starting eleven. However, the Hammers appear to have convinced the 30-year-old of their project as personal terms are no longer expected to be an issue.
