Speaking to The Mirror US, he said: "I loved the vibe. I was really drawn to the 'blurring of reality' aspect and how plausible everything was - being a fan of spooky stories and urban legends, I wanted to join the party." Known as u/Red_Grin online, Jimmy's stories not only impressed the entertainment manager but also its 17 million users, who upvoted 10 of his short stories into the number one spot on the subreddit. He says the entertainment manager, named Josh, contacted him a few years after he began sharing his work on Reddit, saying he was a "big fan" and thought his stories had "film/TV adaptation potential." With his notes and feedback, I wrote it up as a novella, which caught the attention of Verve, a talent agency in Los Angeles," he added. My amazing literary agent Liz at Verve helped me turn DEAD ELEVEN into a novel, which then sold to Dutton Books.
