Colombia captain Catalina Usme sends message to England ahead of Women’s World Cup clash

NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT

Colombia captain Catalina Usme fired her country into the last eight of the Women’s World Cup and has warned quarter-final opponents England that her side can go all the way in the tournament.

Usme scored the only goal of the game as Colombia beat Jamaica 1-0 in the last 16 on Tuesday, setting up a meeting with the Lionesses on Saturday in Sydney.

It is Colombia’s first trip to the quarter-finals of a Women’s World Cup and they will go in as the underdogs against the European champions, but Usme is feeling confident and has great faith in her team.

The 33-year-old, who is playing at her third World Cup, quickly turned her attention to England after the win over Jamaica and said that she does not intend for the journey to end on Saturday.
