Lidl has unveiled the major change to its teabags in its own brand range after similar moves by rivals Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury’s in the past year – and has said quality will not be affected
Lidl has joined other major UK supermarkets by announcing a major change to its tea bags.
The discount supermarket has confirmed that all its own-brand tea bags will now be fully compostable – meaning customers can now chuck them in their food or green waste bins when they’re done.
Products affected include Deluxe Fairtrade Assam Tea (£1.09), Knightsbridge Gold Blend Tea (£1.19) and Knightsbridge Red Label Tea (£2.39).
It follows similar moves by rivals Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury’s in the past year, which also made alterations to their own-brand ranges to stop tea bags going to landfill.
