A nurse and mother-of-four died while hiking in scorching heat at the same spot where her husband had proposed 11 years prior – her husband shared a heartbreaking tribute describing her as ‘the best thing that ever happened to him’
A husband has given a heartbreaking tribute to his wife, a nurse, who died hiking in 45.5°C (114F) heat at the same beauty spot where he proposed.
Mother-of-four, 34-year-old Jessica Christine Lindstrom, lost her life while hiking in the scorching heat of the Deem Hills Recreation Area.
Jessica, a registered nurse from Oregon, went missing during a hike on Friday morning, triggering a massive search and rescue operation.
Her body was discovered on a remote trail on the north side of the recreation area after an extensive five-hour search. The location where Jessica died was the very same spot where her husband, Daniel, had proposed to her 11 years ago.
